I was 6000 miles away from home when it happened. My Wife went out to buy a car by herself and I did nothing to stop her for she was about to go through a serious learning experience and so was I. When buying a new car have your information in tact or become the next victim of a large commission, not yours, but the car dealers.

From the minute my wife stepped on the car lot, she really didn't have a fighting chance because the first tip that we must know is our options as everyone walking on a car lot are in control as no car dealer can force you to purchase any car on the lot and therefore must do everything in their power to persuade you that you came to the right dealership.

My wife is one in a million customers who as first time car buyers that see only the car and not the hidden fees that a dealership can get you with. Special options that you don't need are included when you sign the contract, but if you don't know where to look then that dealer has just added extra commission to his or her already large commission.

When my wife left the lot, she has the car she wanted, but I was left with a $798 dollar car note and when I got back home and saw the contract, I almost pasted out from the amount of interest that they financed her for, 15%. That Dodge Caravan instantly became a Mercedes Benz payment as we were now responsible for paying double the price of the Van when we included interest over the 6 years that she was financed for.

The moral of this story is get the information ahead of time and go to the car lot prepared because the bottom-line is yours not theirs. That is why I have created a website dedicated to providing consumers with 1000s of quick tips about things like car buying, financing a car, and so much more for free. I don't think no one should ever have to pay $55,000 for a $25000 car.

Fortunately for me, I tripled the payments and was able to pay the car off in three years as it was impossible to trade the car in as we were seriously over the actual price of the car, which by the way dropped $5000 dollars in value the minute we walked off the lot.
